I am also doing cs50 and currently in week 3.Its a great course and indeed by the end of it, you will have a better computational thinking and problem solving skill. I too faced the some issue as u did, courses after courses and later end up knowing nothing. It's better to get the fundamentals right, then everything else will be relatively easy.
