How does dev.to post ranking works?

I've always had this doubt, because I've notice that some posts below the most highlighted one have more likes (or unicorns).

I would suggest you don't put "fuc...." in your post if you don't want it to be ranked down. I did this in one of my posts and it was severely down-ranked in main feed and in weekly feed.

  • Quality/spam indicator filtering
  • Admin intervention

It's a soup and we're always trying to improve it but over time we'd rather focus on individual relevancy than community-wide scoring so it's not going to be a strict ranking.

We do have plans to add filtering so you can see the strictly ranked version of article lists and comments etc or ranked strictly chronologically. But the default will remain "feed" style.

I hope we get to see ranked posts, my default experience is has quite a lot of low quality posts on home.

This needs to be worked on.
