When creating a post there's a field called description. I filled that and expected that description to appear below the title in the listing view or somewhere else. But I didn't see it anywhere. So...
What is that description field used for?

Meta description for the page and SEO.
What's the unicorn button on the left-side for?
Good point
I think that is just a different reaction to use, so instead of “like” (heart) you react with an unicorn.
Maybe its not this, but I think it is hahahaha
I thought so myself initially. But why would one dilute likes by spreading the reaction to another type? I think the unicorn serves a different purpose.
It turns out that is exactly that, just another reaction to a post. I did a little research and I found this discussion: dev.to/ben/comment/57d9, from 2018.
I think this close the question hahahaha
I know on some sites when you share a link the “description” contents show up in the card. I just checked and I t doesn’t on Twitter or Slack 😂 maybe LinkedIn? Anyway it will show up sometimes on other pages as user readable, but you shouldn’t assume your readers will see it before reading your article, that’s for sure!
Checked LinkedIn, it also doesn’t display the “description” so it looks like the only place it’s visible for sure is in google search results.
