Forge
Forge is an application that supports Forge modding. Forge can be used to create, edit and share Minecraft mods. Forge comes in the form of a launcher with which you can easily install Forge-compatible mods into Minecraft . Forge was created by Lex Manos in 2011 after he failed to convince Mojang employees Jeb and Dinnerbone to add Modding capabilities to the game so he decided to code his own version himself.

How To Install Forge
- 1. Download Minecraft Forge installer.
- 2. Run installer as Administrator.
- 3. Select Install Client or Install Server if you want to install for your server.
- 4. Hit OK.
- 5. Open Minecraft launcher and select Minecraft Forge in Profile menu
- Run game and explore your new mod.

Thanks for the concise installation guide.
I had the Optifine launcher installed and the game gave an Opengl Error: 1286, I googled a bit and it turns out that Optifine is not very compatible with modding and it's better to use Vanilla or Forge, although they have their disadvantages.
