Hi folks!
My name is Mike, I'm from S.E. Texas! Such a bunch of nice guys and ladies here! It seems like everyone is willing to help their fellow developers out! So my main focus is now PHP, Laravel, JS, CSS, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. I've written Java stuff (six years ago was the last native Android phone app I create), wrote some significant VBA stuff, and even further back - I wrote a few applications for scientific (lab) data analysis. While there are many subject matter experts here, I would NOT classify myself as one of them 😂. I do pretty well - and if I don't know an answer - there is always here (DEV), and of course Stack Overflow.
My current project has given me some artistic freedom and I am now exploring Laravel 8.x policies. I've looked at gates - but I think for as big as this application will be - that policies will be a better option. Even though Laravel has done an excellent job at documenting policies - I was wondering if anyone here has implemented them yet. If so - can you give me any suggestions?
So glad to meet all of you!
Mike
