Passing a string to setInterval is fine, and is one of two ways to use setInterval, the other is passing a function pointer. It is not wrong in any way like the other answers state, but it is not as efficient (as the code must be reparsed) norβ¦

The most used technology by developers is not Javascript.
It's not Python or HTML.
It hardly even gets mentioned in interviews or listed as a pre-requisite for jobs.
