How to set up a proxy for the Opera browser – step-by-step instructions

Many tasks on the Internet require the use of a proxy server. For example, you can use it to see what the search results look like for users from another region or country.
At first thought, setting up a proxy for Opera may seem like a difficult task for an ordinary user. But in fact, it's no more difficult than installing new wallpapers on your computer's desktop.
There are no settings in the Opera browser itself that allow you to install a proxy inside the browser. For a certain period, it uses the settings of your operating system, and we will figure out how to deal with that in the article.
Before setting up proxies for Opera, you must have them, and here you have two ways – free but unsafe, and paid – but safe.
There are many free services, however, if you are not confident in the provider's safety, we do not recommend using such proxies, since when receiving a free service, be ready to give something in return, in one form or another. The most harmless option is sharing your Internet traffic, and the most unpleasant is revealing your personal information and its further usage.
We recommend to always use only paid proxies, as they are more secure and faster than the free ones. In addition, paid proxy servers are used only by you (in some cases up to 3 people per proxy), which increases trust in you.
Using the example of 2Captcha residential proxies, we will tell you where to get them, how to configure and use them when configuring a proxy for Opera.

Registration and balance replenishment:

  1. Register on the 2Captcha service: https://2captcha.com/
  2. Log in to your personal account.
  3. Top up your balance. Choosing a proxy:
  4. Click on the "Proxy" button in the left menu.

5. Save the settings:
• Click on the Save button.

6. Enter your login and password (if required):

• When you connect to a site for the first time, you will be prompted to enter your login and password.
• You will find them in the list received on 2Captcha.

IP verification:
Now you just need to check the proxy's performance – type "My IP" in the search engine and go to any IP address checker, and the system will show you which IP address you have installed. If it does not match the one you selected at the stage of buying the proxy, check all the settings again step by step, and if everything is correct, message the tech support of 2Captcha.
