The Podcasts that feed up my mind (1st Part)

I've been listening to podcasts since I had an iPod Nano in 2006... this is so old... I'm learning it was the 1st year of YouTube (see how it looked https://www.webdesignmuseum.org/timeline/youtube-2006), and I clearly remembered how Buzz Out Loud (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buzz_Out_Loud) was one of my favorite podcasts, which was produced by CNET (https://www.cnet.com/) and it had 2 of my favorite hosts, Tom Merritt (https://www.tommerritt.com/) and Molly Wood (https://twitter.com/mollywood).

As a Mexican, this routine of every day listening to podcasts, has kept me updated with what happens in the world, and is an unlimited source for continuous learning for me. Since then I've think that podcasts are the future, but radio still has an appeal when you just don't know what to select, and just let yourself go with what others are scheduling for you.

I don't want this blog post to go very long, but I just want to thank and recommend here what are the most important podcasts of my daily routine.

Daily Tech News Show

This is my staple podcast, the title is clear about the shows usually last 30~ min, the first 5-10 mins are a run down of daily tech news, not really the ones you see in Twitter, the list is very well curated, and they know a lot of what they are talking about.

The show usually has Tom Merritt and Sarah Lane, and on some days they have guests. This show is supported by Patreons.
As I mentioned, I've followed Tom Merritt for 15 years, and his clarity on explaining and the consistency on the show makes this my favorite show.

Masters of Scale with Reid Hoffman

I don't even remember how I learned about this podcast but I think I have listened every single show, its not a podcast that I immediately consume because it needs my full attention, as I want to learn as much as possible from it.

The podcasts is conducted by Reid Hoffman, whom I was not really familiar with, before listening to this show, but he is the founder of LinkedIn and used to be the COO of PayPal, he is now an investor an really a master, trying to explain to the world how to build businesses that scale, by just looking at the not normal side of things, on each episode he interviews a CEO, a founder, or someone that just has something awesome to share about how to run an organization into scale.

Some of the phrases that I've copied from the show are...

building an startup is like throwing a plane off the cliff, and build it before it crashes.

If you launch your product and you are not embarrassed of it, you launched to late.

Meditative Story

This podcast is part of Wait What, the producers of Master of Scale, and for me its acknowledging that I need to take my mind to somewhere else, somewhere that is not directly related with professional growing, that is more about my being, and that there is more people out there that have lived so many things and that can make me grateful or reflective about my reality.

I've never meditated beyond some catholic spiritual retreats to which I've gone to when I was in school... and I've wanted to do it, but never really have tried, this podcast is someone's story with amazing music mixing that provides a simple meditation session for the mind, I've used to relax, to sleep, to think, to just be somewhere else.

I've recommended this podcast to my wife to listen while walking and it has helped her with her English listening (remember we are in Mexico) and to take her mind off too.

PS: Sorry for so many links, I don't know how blogs work now.
PS 2: I listen all my Podcasts on Apple Podcasts, but I know most of these are also available in other platforms like Spotify.
