Can you clarify :
With HLS , 3MB/s or 4MB/s stream consumption is done at server side. For example, if I have 100 MBPS Port server, we can accommodate only 100/3= 33 persons in a live stream?
If above is true, then can owncast relay stream directly to my youtube channel?(if possible)
The point of this project is to have a self-hosted alternative to sites like YouTube, so it won't be relaying things to 3rd party streaming sites.
What it does do is support offloading the actual live video data to object storage, such as AWS S3, so the burden of bandwidth is off your shoulders. Then it doesn't matter how many viewers you have, since they'll get the HLS chunks from remote object storage instead of your origin.
