Has anyone here suffered any addiction? How did it affect your coding productivity?
For further actions, you may consider blocking this person and/or reporting abuse

Hey, I'm not 100% sure what you're asking. Are you talking about some kind of perceived addiction to coding? I don't think that's biologically possible, intense obsession perhaps... That said, I wrote a post on Saturday about alcoholism and development. Perhaps that can help you?
I mean how does addiction in any form affect one's coding productivity?
Well I've been a coder while a smoker and alcoholic, but its not good. The distraction from thinking about your next 'fix' doesn't help, the general feeling bad from daily hang overs is not great, and both alcohol and cigarettes add a kind of fog to the mind. I would assume other addictions are worse or at least not much better.
While addiction can impact individuals in various aspects of their lives, including productivity, seeking support from organizations like the Canadian Centre for Addiction can be transformative.
