I really like this advice, however here where I am, there aren't any developer meetups. I live in Windhoek, Namibia. I've checked Meetup, I check Facebook and Twitter. When I was at school, they had some hackithons but it's usually during the week and during working hours. I can't really get away from work these days. Only conference that's Software related is an annual PyCon with a very expensive entrance fee. Either you are a student who goes for free or you work for a company that pays for your ticket.
I've tried Discord servers but the people on those aren't as supportive as I'd like them too be. No one really cares about you.
Until the day I can immigrate to a first world country, I'll be a lone wolf for now.
