Social negative effects and solution .

1 Affects Social-Emotional Connection.

Social media has become a hindrance in the way of social-emotional connection. Be it the wishes on special days or expressing one’s feelings, everything has been limited to textual content through social media, which results in a lack of personal feelings and connections.

2 Decreases Quick-witted Skill

I would agree that social media has decreased real-time face-to-face conversations with our buddies. People have started relying on text messages by simply typing a text.

3 Causing Distress to Someone’s Feelings

I feel sad when I see people using social media as a platform to hurt the other person. I wonder why it is so.

The unnecessary trolls, feedback, and comments on another person’s life make me feel very disappointed.

4 Present Physically Not Mentally

The negative effects of social media
When I am at my friend’s place or on an outing with them, I feel disheartened by seeing each one busy with their phones.

5 Lack of Family Quality Time

I would personally agree to it that social media has caused distance in relationships.

Earlier, people use to spend quality time with their family members by sitting together, having meals together, watching movies, having celebrations, and discussing any issues with each other.

6 Cyberbullying

Disadvantages of social media cyberbullying
In the past few years, many people, especially children, have become victims of cyberbullying as it is very easy nowadays to create fake accounts and fake profiles and threaten other people.

Cyberbullying has resulted in many suicides, depression issues, etc. People have started using social media as a platform to spread fake news and rumors, which has caused an unhealthy environment in society and the country.

Solution for negative effects.

1 Be mindful of your social media habits

Being mindful means being more conscious and aware of your patterns. Since much of our social media use involves mindless scrolling, the best way to take control of our use is to first be conscious of how we’re using social networking sites in the first place. To start, ask yourself the following questions:

2 Set limits on the amount of time you spend on social media.

Studies have shown that the amount of time spent daily on social media is associated with negative emotions. A STUDY by Kiera E. Riehms and colleagues published in JAMA Psychiatry found that adolescents who used social media for more than three hours a day may be at higher risk of mental health problems.

There are several ways to track, monitor, and block the amount of time spent on social media, including several apps.

3 Know when it’s time to stop scrolling.

A lot of our social media use is compulsive. After all, these networks are designed to keep us engaged as long as possible. Therefore, it’s important to be aware of the addictive potential of social media sites. We may constantly check social media sites because of the PSYCHOLOGY OF FOMO and THE POWER OF LIKES. No matter the reason, the moment being on social media starts to trigger negative feelings is the time you need to stop scrolling.
