Management often results in negative productivity.
Those who are capable naturally deliver results. If you’re always trying to improve outcomes through management, it may actually backfire.
In practice, everyone needs to spend at least an hour preparing for a meeting, and with three meetings a day constantly disrupting the flow of work, it seriously impacts the team’s overall productivity. Most of the time, it’s just about helping the manager check a box.
There doesn’t seem to be a real solution for this at the moment. It’s difficult for an individual to change a company’s culture.
I think there are three stages when dealing with environmental challenges: change, accept, or leave.
Change is rarely effective, and accepting it means there’s no room for growth. Leaving isn’t easy, but at some point, a decision has to be made, and preparations must begin.
