Hey there, I want to introduce you to a little something that started as a passion project but quickly became a game-changer for me. It's called Altcode (formerly known as Qrrate), and I think it's super cool.
Altcode: Unleash the Magic β¨ (Trust me don't ask ChatGPT to write a blog for you it's terrible)
What's so magical about Altcode? Well, let me break it down for you:
(exaggerated version, please refer to Github for a better technical view)
File Conversion Sorcery: Altcode takes your files, no matter their format, and works its magic, transforming them into video files. But wait, before you raise an eyebrow, this conversion comes with a minimal increase in size β just 5.4 times the original. That means efficient storage without sacrificing quality.
Reliability at Its Best: Altcode isn't a one-time wonder. It's in its impressive 4th edition now, which means it's been refined and perfected over time. You can trust it to convert your files with the utmost quality and reliability.
Power Behind the Scenes: Behind the curtain, Altcode taps into the wizardry of technologies like JIMP for advanced image processing and relies on FFMPEG and FFMPEG-FLUENT for video processing. That ensures a seamless and efficient conversion process.
Infinite Cloud Storage? Oh, Yes!
Now, here's the game-changer part. Thanks to Altcode's brilliant conversion, you can upload these video files to YouTube. And guess what? YouTube doesn't impose any hard limits on the size of files you can upload. That's right, it's like having limitless cloud storage for your data. Say goodbye to storage limitations, folks!
It's Fun and Worth a Try! (no really... atleast a view)
But Altcode is not just about solving a problem; it's about having fun while doing it. Imagine converting your files into quirky little videos and then sharing them with friends and family on YouTube. It's a unique way to turn your data into something entertaining.
And here's the exciting part: If you use Altcode on your local machine, it has the potential to convert files as big as tens of gigabytes! That's a game-changer in itself. No more worrying about file sizes or running out of space. (Like maybe, it's quite timetaking so i didn't try but, technically it can.)
Just remember to use it responsibly and in compliance with YouTube's policies. And, of course, have a blast converting your files into video masterpieces. (even Leonardo Da Vinci would have appreciated this masterpiece π)
In conclusion, Altcode is more than just a file conversion tool; it's a revolution in cloud storage. It's fun, it's practical, and it's here to make your digital life easier and more entertaining. Give it a shot, and who knows, you might just like it. ππ
well this was written by ChatGPT and I konw it's quite terrible so... here are some numbers:
It's quite efficient when it comes to converting files to videos as the video only has an increment rate of 3.2x (btw that's the best I could acheive due to aggresive quality deterioration from FFMPEG but it can be reduced to much more).
The video length is quite good as a file of size 20MB would decrease to just 0 seconds of video, making it useless to upload on YouTub ...but on the other side it was fun to make it efficient.
you can see the code here Github.
