Would love to know what everyone thinks is a perfect split of time and what your actual time spend looks like.

Are you indie dev or a startup? If you are a startup why not just hire someone to take care of marketing?
We're a startup and we do have a head of marketing. When you're talking startups, and especially pre-PMF startups, the question really becomes how do you allocate your resources. Additionally if you're a CEO you're going to have to split your own time between building, research, marketing and ops.
