A guide to submitting your idea for JS Kongress 2020

And this is, what we are looking for — a guide to submitting via sessionize.com/js-kongress-2020:

The focus of JS Kongress 2020 is on Scaling JS — Pushing the Limits: Massive Platforms, Data-Driven Architectures, and Modern APIs.

The programming language JavaScript is more important than ever and is used everywhere, on servers and hardware, in native apps and games.

With growth , the pain of scaling is added for every company and project. And scaling problems are hard problems.

“Which area of scaling do you cover”?

We want to discover the various areas of scaling and explore questions and optimization in these areas :

  • how to optimize coding and architectures for scaling
  • how did JS Engines evolve, what’s the approach for performance optimizations in V8, SpiderMonkey, JavaScriptCore
  • how to scale massive frontends in React, Angular or Vue.js
  • how to improve Node.js performance
  • how to scale teams and work with hundreds of engineers
  • how to scale horizontally and how to use modern cloud infrastructures like Kubernetes for scaling
  • how to architect massive data-driven platforms in JavaScript
  • how to deal with enormous concurrency and increasing load on your Javascript services

“Track”

Scaling affects everyone : frontend, backend, architects and teams. Let’s watch out for solutions and best practices. Choose 1 of 4 areas to sort your talk into a track — if it covers more than one, please choose the one, that fits best.

Basic information

As well we need to know, what you are going to talk about in detail. Therefore we ask for a title and a description. You can refer to last year’s schedule for examples (e.g. https://2019.js-kongress.com/sessions/how-to-combine-event-sourcing-architecture-in-your-node-js-server/). Use this information to attract people to attend your session.

In-Deep information for participants

What are the key takeaways from your session? What will attendees know afterward, which knowledge will they gain, for which kind of project/problem will this be useful?

In-Deep information for the Program Committee

Why do you think, your talk fits the 2020 focus? Please explain your motivation to submit your talk for JS Kongress 2020. Always have in focus the motto “Scaling JS — Pushing the Limits”. The Program Committee will use this bit of information to understand the background of your talk as well it will make possible to evaluate if your talk will insert seamlessly with the common theme.

Additional info

Further details we are looking for is your personal details , which will be used for the speaker profile once the program is online. Talks will be evaluated in anonymous mode by the Program Committee–and therefore only by their content.

Additionally, we are planning to have workshops again this year. Please consider offering your talk in a hands-on group as well. Whether you are ready to give a workshop as well won’t influence the evaluation of talks. There will only be a handful of workshops, either way, not every speaker can be a workshop trainer of pure organizational reasons.

We are looking forward to creating a diverse line-up , especially we are encouraging 1st-time speakers to submit via the Call for Papers as well (there is a checkbox to ask for support). All talks will be in English. As well there will be an interpreter for German Sign Language.

JS Kongress’ greatest focus is on the community. Therefore we encourage you to review talk/slides of fellow speakers. As a speaker, every trial run makes you feel more comfortable with your talk and topic as well with the speaking-time of 25 minutes. As a reviewer, you offer them the amazing opportunity of objective insights if the train of thought is clear. Additionally, you will get new ideas on how to present, how to argue a train of thought and inspiration for rhetoric motives.
