When was the last time you started learning about some new open source tool such as a new langauge, framework, or library?
Have you ever come across inaccurate, outdated, or missing documentation during this process?
This is perhaps of the easiest ways you can begin contributing to open source.
Back in 2015 when I started playing with CouchDB, that’s exactly what I did. I found a number of typos, grammatical errors, and confusing content. So I submitted a pull request.
I’ve done the same for many, many projects. This means my name is now an official part of the record for a wide variety of tools, including some fairly popular ones, including Terraform and Kubernetes.
