I opened Dropbox last night and it prompted me to update to the latest version to be ready for macOS 12. Which I did.
This morning I realized that all my links and paths using Dropbox files where broken. I opened iTerm
to start working and it's yelling at me about not being able to find one file that contains aliases for some bash commands.
In other words Dropbox will now work more like Google Drive Desktop does. If you need the latest version of a file it needs to be open to sync, especially if you are using it on different devices.
The solution:
- Old Dropbox path:
~/Dropbox
- New Dropbox path:
~/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox
Here you go! Go ahead and update your links/paths.
