If you are interested in paying more attention to HTML—paying it the attention it needs—, then there are two specific things you can do.
Validate your HTML code. There is the W3C validator, there are validation packages, there are validation plugins for your editor.
Learn what markup you can leave out. Make your life easier, and that of HTML better! Consider becoming an HTML minimalist: It starts with learning what 25 tags to safely omit.
That’s a botched post from what I thought about writing. But it’s not a bad one. HTML needs more attention. ☮
