Why Octopus as a mascot? 🐙
The octopus is a perfect representation of the existence and purpose of this community! Octopuses are one of the most intelligent ocean creatures, and they learn and adapt very quick.
Its symbolism pretty much encapsulates what we’re about. Selflessness, intelligence, awareness, altruism, the ability to overcome challenging solutions with creativity and intelligence.
A community of practice
As a community of practice, our purpose is to develop and nurture the members’ skills and promote continuous learning. We believe that knowledge is most valuable when it is shared, so our community serves as a platform for the exchange of insights, ideas, and expertise.
We motivate each other to create and share our own original content. The Twitch channel, the blog, and the YouTube channel are our outlets for putting out our content. Everyone is welcome to contribute.
Open Source
Everything we do is open source. Our content is open source. Our website is open source. Our projects are open source. Why? Because reading and understanding other people’s code makes you a better coder. Because networking and collaborating with other people make you a better human.
