Hmm, that might be coming off a bit too strong, I think. While I do use so-called ortholinear keyboards myself, I've never experienced any pain in relation to staggered rows.
If you've got pains of some sort, though, sure, do give it a try; I quite like it, but I don't really mind staggered keys either.
That said, I'm all for refining, improving, and investing in the tools you use for work. Considering how many hours we spend hammering away on a keyboard every week, it makes sense to try and optimize for longevity.
