Best Football API available?

I have tried and used multiple football APIs to get live data feeds and stats for my application. There are many football APIs available, some for free (mostly with inaccurate data and shortcomings), and some for a monthly fee.

I recommend to start with a reliable source of your data right away, because switching providers is not something you want (I found out the hard way). Though, this does not mean that a reliable Football API has to be very expensive. There are some providers who are asking lots of money for their football data. And some have a very good price/quality level.

The API which worked best for me was the SportMonks API. Next to football, they also have Cricket and Formula 1. For every plan they offer a 14-day Free trial, so it's good to check if the data suits your needs. I think the plans are not expensive and I really like the data quality.

I can confirm what Tim said. It's essential to have accurate data updates. I was looking for a good Football data provider for Bundesliga livescores when I found Best-Footballdata-api.com.
