No PHP isnt dead. PHP powers still the most websites in the www and also the most business application API`s are written in PHP. PHP only looks dead because its not that "fancy" as other techstacks and the most people spend their spare time on to new fancy techstacks instead old ones and thats why you are hearing a lot more about fany techstacks as from php.
