@Daudex I genuinely don't care whether it's "master" or "main".
But I am now unable to stop thinking about the fact that hearing "master branch" is reminding them of racial issues. The idea behind the change is disturbing, not the change itself.

@Speedkicks Many people make that connotation automatically when they hear the terms. I did when I heard about them 1st time as a university student and I think the change is welcome.

@Daudex Both of our experiences would be anecdotal in this instance, as I attended an HBCU and never heard of anyone even thinking in that direction.
My question for you would be: were you bothered/isolated by the connection you made or was it just a passing thought?

@Speedkicks I hear you. At the time I thought it was something unique to me, but following the discussions of the last few days and the numerous developers of colour that expressed their views about it, I can now see that it’s not something isolated.
