The same kind of thing happened with Rust compared to other languages. Also with Quarkus, a JVM framework compared to Spring. In both these cases also the ecosystem is less mature compared to things that have been around longer.
Forced by who? Yes, it could increase the rise in popularity, but it might also increase unhappiness, since when people are forces to use certain tech, it's also easy to blame it when things go south.
