As for my problem, I think I'm not entirely comfortable with or have a full understanding of how Flutter works, which is leading me to think that nested NotificationListeners are a bad thing. I do know that a lot of the tree is just rewritten; it's done this way on purpose and is optimized for it. I might just need to spend more time with it now that I hear it might not be something to solve.
