DK Developer community recap: Inspiring communities

Microsoft Ignite is an annual conference for developers and IT professionals. The first conference, then known as TechEd, happened in 1993 in Orlando, Florida, United States. In 2020, it went all online.

This year together with my good colleague Rasmus Jaqué, I got the chance to host a a session about developer community in Denmark & highlights of their projects & initiatives. This is a short recap about this session.

REDI School of Copenhagen

We interviewed Ida Marie Bjerre Jepsen from REDI School of Copenhagen, she talks about her journey and how she started the school and how this initiative change people’s lives.

Hack Your Future Copenhagen

HackYourFuture is a non-profit organisation that aims to train refugees, asylum seekers and other disadvantaged groups to become web-developers and empower them by opening the doors to a very in-demand job market. It was initially founded in 2015 in Amsterdam and today exists in Belgium, Denmark & Canada.
We interviewed Marie Hoff Project Lead at Hack Your Future Copenhagen.

WonderCoders

We had a chance to talk to Plamena Cherneva about WonderCoders. She briefly talks about this nonprofit association. They have a mission to inspire, empower and support women in pursuing careers in IT and to achieve this goal they run multiple initiatives such as Nordic Women Awards.
