Day 3 - New Year, New Challenge

So I decided to start the year with my project, my first PAAS. And yes, when I say "start the year" I literally mean my ass was sitting down coding on Jan 1st.
I've meant to record some videos for social media, but tbh (and IDK how those dev guru's do it) I got so hyped with the coding that I can't think of anything else.

A bit about myself: I've been developing for the past 3 years, and recently incorporate Web3 development to my stack. I also have 8 years experience in the adTech industry to show off, as well as a share of an entrepreneurial profile, as I've participated in the creation of several projects. However, as good as the winnings and conquest are, lets us never forget the losses and failed projects since those are the best ones to learn from (2 years ago I tried making a podcast platform, it was a failure and left me broke af).

This time around, I'm taking up this channel to push personal limits and strive to build a scalable web app, while having both tons of fun and as little pain as possible (long restless night not guaranteed).

MISSION:
To build a Platform as a Service for E-Learning focused on LATAM.

The project is an online learning platform for Spanish speakers, because the niche potential is there! There's SO MUCH content in english for learning programming, but for those not fortunate enough to be bilingual it might be a no-show and a turn off, so I'm taking as my mission to open the doors and facilitate paid & free learning material for programming.

Once finished with the code, I'll move forward with the marketing strategy which is already being cooked.

STACK:

  • NextJS
  • NodeJs
  • TailwindCss
  • AWS S3
  • AWS SES
  • MongoDB
  • Stripe

Status up to Day 3:

  • Backend is finished, I'm using AWS S3 and SES for handling the messy stuff.
  • Starting with the frontend, this might take me a few days, as I want to build a clean user experience. I felt a bit more bold and decided to polish my TailwindCss skills, as opposed to my dearest StyledComponents.
  • The domain is purchased and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT, I really can't believe the domain was available.

Thought of leaving a log of my progress in here as I've never kept a sort of "diary", so don't mind me :-D

I'll be sharing screenshot and more progress as the buildup comes along.
Lots of love to the community!
