Video based course or text/article based?

I am writing a project oriented nuxtjs course. I wanted to know what do you guys prefer, course with videos/screen recordings or write a ebook styled course, something like https://nextjs.org/learn/

Here's a small peak of what I am creating, still wip, started making the landing page recently.

Another paid course :( Why there is no free content on nuxt. Like literally you cant find good free nuxt courses. Everything is paid. Well nvm your course looks great. Hope you complete it soon. And yes if I had taken this course, I would have definitely prefer video based.

I understand where you're coming from, but a lot of work, time, research & effort goes into making something like this, If I was to spend the same amount of time on a client's project, I'd technically be earning a good amount from it.

I agree it might be difficult to pay, but I feel you'd get more out of it, let me explain why I am not making this for free.

  1. I won't be teaching the basics of nuxt, how nuxt works, how pages work, Instead I'll try to explain the design & architectural patterns that go in when making an enterprise level project, so the target audience is quite different.

  2. I am planning to dedicate a good amount of time to make this very content rich and informative, my goal is the students of my course should earn from what they've learned, so I believe a small investment would go a long for you.

One thing, I won't be having an insane price, I'll try to make it as affordable as possible.

Maybe I can hand out a free license for you, once I complete it on time (hopefully)

Well Thanks for your reply. I know that making a course like this takes a lot of effort and time but as a student paying for course becomes difficult ( almost impossible) for me. I try to learn everything either from the docs or from the blog posts. As you know vue and nuxt dont have that much resources as compared to react. I really like working in vue and also wanna go head and build some projects in nuxt. At last I hope you complete your course soon ( hopefully :) )

I would say both. Video for learning the concepts, but simple text-based resource for reviewing the concepts at a later point, which is something a lot of video courses fail to provide

Wow, maybe I won't be able to do both, it's difficult for me to do the videos since I am new to it and I don't have the right gear.

I am considering investing on some good video accessories for this course, plus a musician friend has offered me to use his studio to use his stuff. Let's see how it goes.

I'm just another joe in the ocean, but i'd rather much more text content than video. With videos we have to wait to get to the part we want, which in most cases we don't know, because we never saw that before, imagine like a 10 min video where one has to find the part that he needs to get the job done, but when someone has a text all he has to do is roll the mouse wheel or do a Ctrl+F. Also reading is much more pleasant than watching a video.
