NORM.S.DIST Function – Explanation:

  • This function returns the standard normal distribution.
  • NORM.S.DIST Function returns values for the standard normal probability density function (PDF), standard normal cumulative distribution function (CDF).
  • This distribution considers mean value as 0 and a standard deviation value as 1.

Syntax:

=NORM.S.DIST(z,cumulative)

Arguments Explanation:

*z – * The input value to which you want to find the distribution.

Cumulative – The boolean value that represents the form of the function. If it is TRUE , this function returns the cumulative distribution function ( CDF ). If it is FALSE , it returns the probability density function ( PDF ).

Note:

  • If the argument z is non-numeric values such as letters , and symbols , then this function returns #VALUE! Error.

Examples:

Let’s see some examples to make you understand how NORM.S.DIST function will work.

Example 1:

  • In the below screenshot, you can see the input ranges in Column B & E , its output CDF values are listed in Columns C and PDF values are displayed in Column F.
  • To find CDF values , you have to give boolean value as TRUE.
