Excel Window Office 365 Intro: A Complete Guide for Newbies!!

On this page, we will explore the basic options and their uses in the Excel window. Excel becomes smart every day to help you to make your work simple and easy. It has numerous features and functions which are completely easy to use. Let’s get started and see some basic options that are existed in Excel. File Tab:

  • Then, it will display the menu as shown in the below image.

  • Info – This section has four options such as Protect Workbook, Inspect Workbook, Manage Workbook, and Browser View Options.
  • New To create a new workbook.
  • Open This option is used to open the existing workbook.
  • Save/Save As You can use these options to save the current workbook.
  • Print It is used to print the current workbook.
  • Share – With this option, you can share an Excel file with others as an E-mail.
  • Export – You can export the file as a document format.
  • Close This will close the current workbook.

Quick Access Toolbar:

Quick Access Toolbar contains the most commonly used commands like Save, Undo, and Redo. You can perform any kind of action with the help of this toolbar even if you are not aware of any shortcuts to access the commands.

  • You can add a new command in the Quick Access Toolbar.
  • To do this, you need to click the down arrow to view the menu.
  • In the opening menu list, you can select any option to add it to the toolbar.
  • If you want to insert other commands, you need to click the More Commands option.

Title Bar:

  • The Title Bar will display the title of the current workbook.
  • For example, refer to the below image.

Excel Ribbon:

  • It is generally called Command Ribbon in Excel. It has only eight tabs/commands in the ribbon.
  • The default tabs are Home , Insert , Page Layout , Formulas , Data , Review , View , and Help.
  • Every tab contains different groups and commands in it. You can use them to perform various tasks.

Use COMMAND RIBBON Options in Microsoft Excel 365!

Row or Column Bar:

  • Each cell in Excel has a unique address. That address is made up of the index of rows & column.
  • In Excel, the row bar is addressed with numeric values. The range of rows in Excel is 1 to 1048576.
  • The column bar is addressed with alphabetical values. The range of columns in Excel is A to XFD.

Status Bar:

  • A Status Bar in the Worksheet is located at the bottom of the worksheet.
  • It will display the worksheet information like if number Lock is on or off in the worksheet.
  • You can show or hide items in the Status Bar by Right-clicking anywhere on the Status Bar and it will display the menu. You can select the item you want to show.

View Buttons:

  • The View buttons consist of three options such as Normal , Page Layout , Page Break view. You can see these buttons in the bottom right corner of the worksheet.

  • Normal – By default, the worksheet is always displayed in normal view.
  • *Page Layout – * When you select this option, it will show you a full-screen look of the worksheet when it is printed. You can also insert the header and footer for a page.
  • Page Break view – It will show the preview of the page where it contains the page break. You can adjust the page break such as insert, move, or, delete.

Zoom:

  • You can adjust the page view size with the help of this option.
  • + ” and “ ” buttons will help you to zoom in or out the worksheet.

Help:

  • You need to click the F1 key to open the Help Dialog Box.
  • It will show more articles for your reference. So you can learn lots of information from the Help window.
