Open-source app to help fighting COVID-19

I co-founded a few years ago a healthcare startup (Lifen) with the aim to help healthcare professionnals in their daily job. With COVID-19 spreading faster, hospitals, hospital beds are starting to be quite saturated in infected countries while we also know that 80+% patients are asymptomatics and should simply stay at home thus avoiding additional saturation and preventing contaminations amongst caregivers.

We were contacted a week ago by infectious diseases practitioners to help create a web app to monitor covid-19 patients at home :

  • we create a command center for each city
  • healthcare professionnals onboard their patients
  • every 24H, patients receive by a SMS a secret and temporary link to fill a few vitals on a responsive form
  • their status then evolves depending on their answers leading to a list of actions to be taken by caregivers

As the disease has already spread to 100+ countries we have decided to open-source it.

It is a very simple Rails 6 app using Twilio's API. Here is the main flow in video :

Feel free to fork it or contibute :)
