How do you improve further after maturing as an engineer?

Hey community. I've spent quite some time in the industry (8 years) and I feel like moving forward is becoming harder and harder, let me explain why I think that.

The vast majority of the content online is dedicated to either "how to start coding" or "how to build e-commers/Airbnb/Youtube in react/angular/vue/svelte" which is super important and much needed, but after you cover the basics (language, coding, best practices) the information and stories are diminishing rapidly.
To me, this is where the fun begins. Once you clear all the basics and gain some solid experience, the fountain of the real-world challenges and create solutions opens up (just look at what companies like Netflix get to do internally to deal with the load or healthcare products finding neat ways to help others meet the new regulations).

I'm somewhat fortunate to work in consulting and observe myriad of different challenges and solutions, also scouting some elaborate blog-posts from the community and reading books, but there is only so much you can get from reading abstract materials without solid and elaborate real-world examples.

How do you advance your skills, knowledge-base and techniques after becoming a mature engineer?

P.S. I get that finding a new job is likely a solution, let's chat what we can do beyond that.
