Professional : No clue where the day went. Had a couple of team meetings. In the larger team meeting, I got the opportunity to demo an application that I've been working on now that I got it in a public place that others can check it out and give me feedback. I started to get some ideas from folks for things I was thinking about adding. Since they brought it up as well, I think I'll look into incorporating them. I cut a release for a fix that was added to a library. Also spent some time putting together an outline and overall flow for a blog post. Added some rough sentences/thoughts to kind be placeholders for the points I want to mention. Next thing I know, the day is over.
Personal : So last night, I got a bunch of stuff done. I actually wrote it down because I new I would forget. haha I purchased the projects on Bandcamp and got all the social media posts ready. Also went through some tracks for the radio show. I found a piece of land that just went on the market. Did the normal research to make sure it's not in a flood zone, the surrounding area and other things. Looked pretty good so I reached out to the real estate agent. I thought about a tool (video to gif convertor) that will come in handy for things that I work on. I'll be able to add it to https://myLight.work The cool thing is that it's kind of similar to another project I've been testing out. It will also allow me to try out a couple of new Web APIs that I've been meaning to look at. So I did a bunch of research, planned out my application steps, looked at documentation and blog posts, and did some small code samples to test out the different parts. Went to bed watching an episode of "The Umbrella Academy".
During my lunch break, since it was raining, I stayed in the van and worked on the tool I spoke about earlier. I was able to get a video file and then drag and drop it to an area of the page and then show the video on the page. That was pretty cool to see it working. My next step is to be able to set the start and end points of the video so only that section is converted to a gif. I'm going to create a new UI elements that I've never done before and hook it up to the video preview. I want to put together some playlists for the radio show. End the night watching the final episode of "The Umbrella Academy". The story has taken a path that I never thought it would when I watched the first episode of season one years ago. Unorthodox is probably a good way of describing the show. Going to eat dinner, complete my step goal and get to work.
