I agree! I've been trying to follow four steps when helping junior developers with some specific issue, I just go to the next if they still need help.

1. understand the problem. Empathy and respect are important here
2. pinpoint the problem. Good moment to say "I don't know" and pair research
3. pair program or guide them to a solution, but let them own the solution. This is an exercise in their strecth zone.
4. give away the solution. Maybe they were in the panic zone.
