For my blog I went down the React path with Next.js mainly because of mdx and projects like mdx-embed (mdx-embed.com/?path=/docs/introduc...)
I use VSCode and there is good support there. There is an extension for Astro here marketplace.visualstudio.com/items...
The part I like about it is that I can add pieces from other ecosystems like React with minimal effort and still have the same workflow.
