It was just like yesterday when I get to write my first 'Hello world' using python programming language. I couldn't go pass that level because I don't have a reason or goals to keep on with it. So on this faithful day on twitter, a tweet was re-tweeted to my timeline from @unicodeveloper
about those who will love to learn how to code and that was how I go to join the first slack workspace. From that period, I was able to build a great passion for the tech world, precisely software engineering. I started learning how to code in a proper way online to aid my journey to become a software engineer.
During this process it got to a point where I felt lost, I didn't know the next direction to go, it was like make a wrong decision. This led to me look out for people who are already make a profession out this and are doing so well. During my search for answers I came across people like @zfinix
, @dthompsondev
@ThomasBurkhartB @hacksultan
e.t.c. Dev community like @codenewbie
, dev.to, @theZuriTeam and finally @hnginternship where i get to know about the HNGi8 intership. I had to turn on notification for the @hnginternship to ensure that I get to know about the next edition of the HNG intership. I register for this internship via this link: (https://internship.zuri.team). During this intership, I want to grow more as a developer, network, make good friends and build meaningful relationships. I'm Dare Oloruntoba, and I'm in HNGi8's Frontend Track.
The following resources are what I use when I started to learn how to code:
- HTML Crash Course This YouTube video by Brad Traversy gives you a nice overview of HTML5. This way you won't have many challenges when it comes to structuring your websites or apps because your foundation is strong.
- GIT This YouTube playlist by Free Code Camp explains basic things in Git and GitHub to get you started. I like it because it has short, concise videos that are easy to understand.
- JavaScript tutorial for Beginners This video explains the basics of JavaScript and gives you links to more in-depth videos.
- Figma UI design This YouTube video by AJ&Smart walks you through the basics of Figma and helps you design a simple fun project while learning it.
