I started my most current job in September 2019. One of the first things I started to do was 1:1's with people whose opinions I valued both within and outside of my team. This has helped me gain an understanding of what I am doing well, where I can improve, how others view my work, and how I can expand my network outside of my team to gain visibility. It has been a great experience and I have been doing them every quarter with the same people or others that they recommend. The feedback has been encouraging and has aided in my determination of where I want to head next with my career and how I need to define goals to get there. I have met wonderful people and been able to network with individuals who have gone on to other positions both within and outside of the company.
