For my sixth widget, I explored the concept of visual hierarchy in button design, while embracing Tailwind CSS's mobile-first approach. This exercise helped me understand how designing for small screens first can simplify the process of adapting to larger screens.
I really want to thank the Material Minimal folks here
Key Learnings and Enhancements:
- Mobile-First Approach: I designed the widget with small screens in mind, using Tailwind's mobile-first classes to create a layout that adapts easily to wider screens.
-
Visual Hierarchy in Buttons: I compared two approaches to button design:
- No Hierarchy: Buttons with similar styles can confuse users about the most important action.
- Good Hierarchy: Clear differentiation in button styles guides the user to the primary action (e.g., "CHECKOUT").
-
Consistent Spacing and Layout: Used
space-x-1
andp-2
to ensure the layout remains clean and consistent across different screen sizes.
Check out the code and see how I implemented these concepts here.
Stay tuned for more insights as I continue this journey to 1000 widgets!
