To get started with Mastodon - first steps ..

To get started with Mastodon, you must first select a Mastodon server to join.
Mastodon is decentralized, meaning there are many different servers that are all connected to each other. You can choose a server that best suits your interests and preferences.

Here are the basic steps to get started with Mastodon:

Select a server: Visit the Mastodon server list and select a server you would like to join. You can filter by topics, languages or other criteria.

Register: After selecting a server, visit the server's website and look for the option to register. There you will be asked to choose a username and provide an email address.

Create profile: After successful registration, you can personalize your profile. Add profile information, a profile picture, and other details so other users can learn more about you.
**
Follow other users*: Find and follow users who share your interests. This allows you to see their posts in your own Mastodon feed.
*

Create posts:** You can create your own posts (called toots) by clicking the create new post button. You can share text, images and links.
**
Follow Hashtags:** Use hashtags to categorize your posts. You can also follow hashtags to see posts about specific topics in your feed.

Interact with others: Comment, like and share posts from other users. Interacting with others fosters community and allows you to meet more people on Mastodon.

Remember that each Mastodon server is independent, and user data is not shared between servers. So if you want to interact with a user on another server, you must make sure that you are registered on the same server or on a server that is connected to the other user's server.<
