Difference between technology and methodology - Dgi

The terms "technology" and "methodology" are related but refer to different concepts:

Technology refers to the tools, systems, and processes used to accomplish specific tasks or achieve certain goals.
It encompasses tangible products, such as hardware devices, software applications, machinery, and equipment, as well as intangible systems and processes, such as communication protocols, algorithms, and programming languages.
Technology evolves rapidly and encompasses a wide range of fields, including information technology, engineering, medicine, communication, transportation, and manufacturing.

Methodology, on the other hand, refers to the systematic approach or set of principles, procedures, and techniques used to conduct a particular activity, process, or discipline.

It outlines the framework, guidelines, and best practices to be followed in order to achieve desired outcomes efficiently and effectively.

Methodology can be applied across various domains, such as project management, research, software development, quality assurance, and data analysis.

Examples of methodologies include Agile, Waterfall, Six Sigma, Lean, Scrum, Design Thinking, and Scientific Method.
