What was your win this week?

Hey there!

Looking back on this past week, what was something you were proud of accomplishing?

Examples of 'wins' include:

  • Starting a new project

I completed my first technical interview as a senior software engineer applicant. I always feel like i am not qualified enough to apply for such a hgih position given i have only been in software for 6 years and thought i didn't have enough experience, but been getting more requests for interviews and have my second technical tomorrow.

I also made the homepage for my portfolio website and bought my domain after being scared for so long to put myself out there.

Here is my linkedin in case anyone wants to connect:

Of course, this is a bit of a plug, but I mean it genuinely: Some of the submissions that have gone into the Deepgram Hackathon are mindblowing. 🀯

I think of it as my win only in that I was at all involved. I really encourage folks to submit something to the contest if you haven't yet. It's a great learning experience.

I started learning Swift a few days ago, and I’ve already made a multiplication and division app.

I maintain a large legacy Zend 1 project that I inherited, and have been using Psalm with a baseline file to gradually make it more type safe over the last six months. As at Thursday the production version passes level 6, and there's been a fair amount of progress towards passing level 5.

I got a little further in reviewing gitpod's database schema. I'm hoping to keep referring to it as I practice building out a clone of its backend API, to keep sharpening my basic REST CRUD skills during interviews.

I also pushed myself to do about 8 interviews, even going to some uncomfortable second round screenings.

I started a Google Presentation to send to my friend to explain some technical things to him (talking about the Axies Infinity defi hack). I've never been a public speaker ever - but thought this would be good way to practice without a ton of pressure :)
