Hi everybody! š
Another week down, hope you each had a good one! š
Looking back on this past week, what was something you were proud of accomplis...

I reached 10,000 followers earlier this week. I've already got 11,000 now!
Thanks, DEV, for making my coding journey awesome. ā¤ļø
Congratulations! :)
You should be close to 10k too Christine :)
I will soon @ibrahimraimi! š Iām just not going to rush it! š
Thanks!
Congratulations š„³š
Thank you!
Congratulations šš
Thank you!
Rock on, Best! That's awesome. š
You are a huge part of my DEV coding journey. It would have been much less fun and a lot less awesome without you.
Thanks! ā¤ļø
Thank you so much for that comment! That makes my day. š
And good vibes right back atcha! I've enjoyed getting to know ya and really appreciate ya being part of our community here. š
Of course, you deserved it. š
I'm glad I found dev.to.
Also, happy (early) Easter!
After fighting with the Zoom Video SDK for a week or so, things are finally starting to come together. I'll probably end up making some tutorials after I finish the project since the guides & documentation I found online were often incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated.
Also, my troubleshooting lesson of the week:
Apparently Shadow DOM elements don't have access to the top-level DOM's CSS classes. I had elements that were sized wrong or not even appearing at all. Turns out the culprit was me trying to pass Tailwind classes down to them. Switched to inline styles and problem solved.
š I received a new badge! āØ
I have also gone through all my books and got rid of almost half of them! (Given and to be given away to charity). I got tons of home projects for this holiday season and I have already gotten a lot done! It is so hard to stop when you just got started! āØ
Awww yeaaah! Half of all the badges is no small feat! š
Awesome stuff, Anita, and congrats on the home projects as well!
Thank you so much, Michael! š
Yay for momentum!!!
Super yay! š āØ
I took a three-day vacation and started my week on Thursday. Though it wasn't a win, I managed to rest and dedicate some time to household chores. In addition, spending time with family members was enjoyable. My advice is to always make time for yourself and your loved ones, not just after work, but sometimes throughout the entire day. š¤
You are totally right, taking entire days is recharging š Enjoy your vacation!!
My proudest moments? I've embarked on not one, but two monumental quests: the grand Microsoft Open AI Challenge and the legendary, self-initiated 30-Day .NET Challenge.
Yes, you heard that right - I'm double-dipping!
It could potentially set my brain on fire (in a good way, I hope!)
Here's to hoping that I don't end up conversing with AI about my love life š
I'm still on my 30-day writing challenge: 11 / 30 done! š„³ All the subjects are ready: Writing is quick, but the code preparations and examples are taking much of my time. I'm mainly focusing on explaining how to create Riot components with BeerCSS. At the end of the challenge, I'll build the library for production use and make it open source.
For today's, my subject is a bit different: dev.to/steeve/s3-client-against-di...
Cheers š»
Iām close to 10k followers on dev.to
@cbid2 - that's incredible! Do you have any tips for an aspiring blogger?
Yes, I might do a blog post on this once I hit 10k to celebrate.
Booyaah!! That's awesome, Chrissy, and very well deserved. Way to go!
Toured a college this week! Certainly nothing crazy, but it's the first time I've done something like that so... woo hoo!
Rock on! That's awesome Oscar. Whereabouts if you don't mind me asking?
No big deal, thanks for asking! Mary Washington, in Virginia (East Coast of the US). It was awesome, and I think it's going to be a great fit for me. The class sizes are small (30 or less for 101 classes, and 20 or less for higher-level classes) and all of the professors are super cool!
Oh awesome! That sounds like a great place. Small classes make a huge difference! Also, that area of the country is quite pretty in my opinion. I love Richmond which is nearby ā it's got some super cool architecture & history. Look up the writer Edgar Allen Poe!
And ya know what, that's only a few hours from me. I travel through Richmond every now and then when going up north and even pass by Mary Washington, I think.
Anyway, If you end up there, maybe we can get up sometime for a cup of coffee! āļø
That would be really cool! I go down there with my dad to ride (mountain bikes, to be specific) every now and then, so we would be around there at some point.
Speaking of Edgar Allen Poe, have you been to the Poe museum? It's somewhere in Richmond, and if I recall it has some pretty neat exhibits.
I published my first ever blog post here! No traction so far, but, hey, hoping that it's the showing up that counts š«¶
Seriously awesome stuff, Julia. š
I checked out your post and I'm glad to hear that you're getting into learning in public and have been grouping up with Virtual Coffee. Ya might already know this, but they have an org right here on DEV:
Virtual Coffee
I regularly point folks to'em because I think they're such a cool supportive group of people! Anywho, great to hear that you're already part of'em.
Anywho, I enjoyed your writing and hope that you find DEV to be a good, supportive community and place for you to learn in public.
Appreciate this! I totally agree, I'm so grateful to come across them and this platform. :D
I got 9K followers on DEV. I have 50 avg readers. I don't know but I am still writing what I want to share.
I win every week. Even if nothing is accomplished, it's still a win.
@michaeltharrington share your win.
Haha love that outlook!
I wish I had a good one this week, but nothing much stands out.
I'll just say I'm happy with the nice spring weather rolling in and feeling all-around content with life right now. š
Feeling the vibe
I finished Fundamentals of HTML and CSS in my Codecademy course, wrote three posts, and finished my HTML References crib, if it could be named like this)))
I will be glad if you look at my page and leave comments
And I already have more that 150 followers and my first badge š
submitted homeworks, watched tons of video tutorials troubleshoot computer issues at work and my brain is a mush, that's a win for me :)
Definitely joining DEV community is the win of this week! š„³
Woohooo! It's great to have ya with us here. š
One week in, and you've already written some really interesting cybersecurity posts. Appreciate ya sharing your knowledge with us!
Thank you for your encouraging words! āØ
I had a successful pitch for my second online course. It looks like I'll be recording content in September.
After putting off blogging for a VERY long time, I'm finally getting into the habit of overhauling my routing and writing more posts. This week I've published 2 articles!
Oh that's awesome, Alex! I'mma follow ya and check out some of your new posts. š
Appreciate ya sharing with us and hope ya continue to enjoy writing!
Here are my wins for this week:
nothing in this week, hope to do better in upcoming weeks
Nothing wrong with that! Not every week needs to have a major win. And for what it's worth... I kinda feel the same this week. No major wins for me, but I'll get something in the coming weeks!
