I'm old, I've been developing professionally for a while but never got involved in the open source community. I think I'd like to finally get involved and just get a pulse on the community. I'm mostly Java/Javascript but I'd like to get back into game development like I was back in college. What do most of y'all use for 2D or small scale games if anyone here is into that?
There are more options for smaller games than larger, 3D games, like godot and cocos are very popular, but nowadays, more creative developers aren't even bound to use game engines, such as just hand rubbing threejs, haha
Yea I think the last time I did any game development, Microsoft XNA Framework was still being supported, but yea you gotta be a particular type of dev to be using javascript to code games lol

I’m following Tim’s Java course on Udemy, and it’s also part of my curriculum. Java is a vast subject, so I recommend taking notes. I suggest using a tool like Notion to create a digital notebook for organizing everything. And of course, the importance of practice can’t be overstated. Practice, practice, and practice some more — you’ll eventually start connecting the dots.

Hello everyone, I come from China where the IT industry is very seriously involution, I am a three-year university science and technology student, although I am non-computer science and technology major, but a computer enthusiast.
I began to learn computer programming in 6th grade, at first I wanted to become a hacker, starting with Python, junior high school found a small loophole in the online question and answer system, tried to write a script to blast passwords, but ended in failure, during the period of contact with the Raspberry Pi, but only use him as a single-board computer, high school in order to prepare for the college entrance exams did not have time to learn technology, (China's college entrance exams, quite brutal).
Then the university very coincidentally went to a discipline close to the embedded software, in order to deal with interpersonal relations, forced to meet a variety of scholarships and subject competition awards, teammates of the bad so that the project into a stagnant situation, and I really see all kinds of shady, and in the end, what I can get out of the project have not been, and obviously, I'm a very good idea of the boy ah, I'm tired of it!
