71 yo learning to code, some experience in machine language and Visual Basic. Trying to learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#, and Python (all for different reasons). I am a junior dev based in Australia, landed my first dev role about 3 months ago after 14 months of learning to code. I studied the typical html, css, JS, React stack but actually ended up in full stack .Net app development using C#. Goes to show it's more about learning the fundamentals than specific languages or frameworks.
My goal right now is to learn my new craft, network with fellow devs of all levels, continue my JS practice in my spare time and work towards moving over to Latin America with my wife and daughter to ideally work remotely.
If anyone is interested, I am keen to sit down and do a brief post on my learning path and the courses I went through to learn code (all free resources). The feedback I received from my boss about why I was chosen is a direct result of the courses I used to learn. I want aspiring devs to understand they don't need to pay these people on social media for coding courses and bootcamps. It's all out there for free, but there are a lot of resources and it's noisy with information, it's easy to get lost and hit tutorial hell. I want to provide just one path to take that worked for me. So let me know if that is something you would be interested in reading.
