Hello Jordan, Nice to meet you! I use my laptop ordinarily like that but I hope and plan to get a monitor setup for coding. Setting up a monitor for coding is amazing. If you plan on doing it, it is awesome. I guess people post about it on Twitter (X) and on YouTube.
Hi Emmanuel, thanks for writing and for your suggestion. I'm trying to sort through all the opinions about it. I read part of an article that posited that we can only focus on a small amount of code anyway so it doesn't actually increase productivity per se. I'm going to keep reading before I invest in a monitor. Also it would allow for a more portable work space which of course has its pros and cons as well.
Okay, your point makes sense. I can't say of it advantages or disadvantages since I don't have one yet but I will definitely like to know what you decided on and the pros and cons with your final decision

I am Ry, the nickname of a real life young developer who loves exploring the world of computer and pretty much anything STEM related.
I recently graduated university with a BSc in Computer Science. What can I say, I am a jack of all trades. I am currently on pursuit of my first job, but my interests surround Web Dev, Game Dev and recently getting more into Cybersecurity and Software Development. I like trying out different technologies and comparing them. I like reading about tech way more than writing about it, but I'd like to try it out eventually.
When I am not sitting in front of my computer, I like hiking on mountains, and canyons, while also hosting movie nights with friends on some weekends. I loved gaming since I was a kid, with PSP being my first console and occasionally practising my kinda non-existent drawing skills.

Hi! I'm Liz, I started my coding journey less than a year ago.
I've struggled with my identity, mental health, and self confidence most of my life, so I've essentially been a aimless overachiever without boundaries most of my adult life. When I started bootcamp I told myself it was for my job. Since I lost that job, I realized that was just an excuse to do something I wanted and enjoyed, something that, even as I'm cusping on mid 30s and financially independent, really makes my parents wring their hands in fear of my future.
I have an MA in rhetoric & composition (essentially coding logic with more words & less satisfaction) and experience in federal, state and other grant writing and management (coding logic with more words and similad satisfaction) and I enjoy research and working with data. Since diving in, I've also found the sharing of information and knowledge in the coding community to be something sorely and heart breakingly lacking in many of our civil institutions.
I'm still jobless and sort of aimless, but I'm also peak internal glowup and excited to see if there's a place for me in this world.

I have a strong passion for learning programming although I have no background in programming.
My goal for wanting to learn programming is first of all the excellent reward it offers (very good paid industry and the flexibility it provides). My second goal is because I can teach my children and my third goal is because I would like to help others by teaching them how to program and then also I would like to contribute to projects.
I have applied to participate in a skills BootCamp program and thanks to God, I was selected so the journey begins.
I have a background in Business Administration and I have worked with NGOs in my home country (Ghana) for many years. When I traveled abroad (to Greece) 3 years ago to a non-English speaking country, I struggled a lot. My first job in that country was to be a cleaner in the prison, then burger maker, then pizza maker, then another cleaning job running from office to office all-day under pressure, and then a receptionist. At one point, I was working 3 jobs 21 hours a day in order to be able to make enough to take care of my responsibilities because salaries were very low.
It was during this period that I realized how important it is to know a lot of languages, I also realized how important it is to have a skill with which you can look for opportunities beyond your boundaries.
I thought to myself if I could learn programming or trading or both, that would be my savior. Thanks to God I have moved from Greece and I am currently based in the UK. Here I am been accepted into a skills BootCamp with EDX BootCamps LLC to learn to become a Front-End Web Developer.
I know the journey may not be easy as I don't have any background in programming but I know with the help and support of everyone here, I will achieve my dream and soon, I will become a Front-End Web Developer which I believe will be my starting point into a world of great opportunities for growth and development.
Anyone here who is also starting out or who is ahead of me or already experienced and would be glad to hold my hands and help me walk this journey, you are warmly welcome and very much appreciated. Kindly drop a comment and let me know how I can connect/collaborate with you for the journey.

In July I started my path in Coding, especially to become a Front End Developer.
I really like Tech and since I was young I've always wanted to make a career focus in Tech, but in College, I didn't have good grades in Maths, so I have to do my Bachelors in Political Sciences. Then, after many years here I am looking forward to becoming a Front End Developer.
When I'm not learning about Coding or reading a book, I'm learning how to be a good mom (my baby was born in February).

My background is Mobile & TV app development, primarily Android (any Android TV developers out here??), but I shifted my focus more towards expanding towards multi-platform development using Dart & Flutter in the last 2 years. I'm also six months into the iOS and Swift world.
I'm a freelancer who works mostly with startups. I look forward to sharing solutions to my everyday problems and hope mobile developers out there will find them helpful.
My first solo project will be built using Flutter & Dart Frog, so expect some of that along with some native Android & iOS content.
