Urgent Need for Review of INEC Regulations
It is well known that every Nigerian individual above 18 years of age has the civic right and responsibility to vote for any candidate of their respective choice. The voter's card serves as a unique identification for all Nigerians worldwide.
My suggestions are as follows:
Creation of an enabling platform for continuous registration of eligible Nigerians, even after the general election.
Launching a mobile app for online registration for Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora.
Creation of a Pre-Enrollment Portal for voter registration, as well as data modification (once in a lifetime) and quick access to voter transfer for all Nigerian citizens during the electioneering era.
These would help to reduce the unusual gathering of people around INEC offices all over the country every four years.
Personally, I have visited the INEC office numerous times for the revalidation and transfer of my card without any success.
I kindly plead to the President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR, and the Nigerian Senate to review the INEC constitution in light of the above observations.
Please feel free to add more suggestions on the way forward as a democrat because the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Kogi State and other states in Nigeria is something else that has no definite proportion.
