I'm Martin, and I worked as a Senior Front End Architect and Engineering Manager at one of the world's largest digital agencies, where I led Front End Teams for international projects. After 15 years, I quit my job. Now I travel the world as a professional scuba diver, work as a freelance Front End Tech Lead and technical Recruiter for international clients. Besides that, I write about technology.

My latest book about Modern Full Stack development will be published in the beginning of next year by No Stach Press. It's an easy, hands-on introduction to creating web applications with Next.js, MongoDB and Mongoose (there's currently a 25% Discount!). Started my profesional career as backend engineer 9 months back, currently working on rules-engine system using Go to automate decision making processes.

Hello. I'm the old fart in the group. I started at age 6 learning BASIC on a Heathkit H89, then worked my way up to Apple Pascal on a ][e, followed by Turbo Pascal on an 80286 PC in High School. I learned C++ in college I've been doing embedded C/C++ development since. Around 2015 I found myself not writing code anymore and instead doing only project management stuff. I missed coding. And 2020 made me realize I need to get back to it.

The past couple of years I've been trying to ramp up on all this new stuff, learning JS/TS, HTML/CSS, React, Vue.js, Express, PHP, Go, Python, Rust, etc. The more I learn, the more I realize how much more I don't know. I created an account on here a while back just to be able to easily save a few pages. Can you teach an old dog new tricks? I guess I'm finding out. I still have at least 10 years left before I can think about hanging my hat up. I've got bills to pay and teenagers to feed.

I'm part of the dev community because I believe in the transformative power of technology. It's here that I connect with like-minded innovators, share ideas, and collaborate on building a future where possibilities are limitless.
