Make Your Mark on the DEV Community Experience by Becoming a Tag Moderator
Tag moderators play an important role in helping to organize and manage the content of our community. If you want to make a difference here on DEV and for the developer community, consider joining our team as a tag moderator. Here are a few benefits:
Opportunity for leadership and influence:
As a tag moderator, you'll have the opportunity to take on a leadership role in the community and influence the direction of the conversation by highlighting certain topics and content.
Share your knowledge and area(s) of expertise by supporting other community members, elevating constructive conversations and content, and answering questions.
Personal development:
Being a tag moderator is a valuable and rewarding experience for those of you who are dedicated to improving the content of an online community.
Learn more about the community and gain new skills such as conflict resolution, communication, and leadership.
Better organized content and improved searchability:
By helping us ensure that content is properly categorized and tagged, you can improve the searchability of the community and make it easier for our users to find the information they’re looking for.
Users are more likely to have a positive experience and return to the community in the future when content is organized and easy to find.

I applied for moderator position lets see! If i can get the opportunity🙂
I remember volunteering as a Tag MOD back in 2019 to force myself to learn how to code with Django and Python
This is another great example of the benefit of being a tag mod. It also highlights how mods are not only contributing to the community, but they're also investing in themselves by gaining new knowledge and experiences. Thanks for sharing!
Indeed!
nice! If you have a momment, please share me the Django and Python article you help to learn!
Hey! What I meant is I read through all the articles and moderate them if it helped or not
Hopefully I wasn't too late to miss out on this great opportunity to get more involved with the DEV community!
Nope! You're def not too late to get involved. 😀
Go go go!
Sign up and meet cool new people! The best perk IMO!

Being a tag moderator is awesome. I read a lot of interesting posts on a daily basis on the tags i moderate and learn many new things
I applied 3 times in the past 2 months and have no response yet 😭
Actual #gitlab moderators does not seem to be GitLab enthusiast nor acting on the articles, I would gladly help if you give me the chance, please 🙏
Mickael acted right away, I'm now a happy tag moderator 😇
Great as always!! 🙌
Had a question, I am trusted user in the Community, do I also have access to the Discord Channel? If so, I haven't been added to it.
Heyo! Great question. 🙂
I think we may have made a change in our Trusted Member welcome email copy removing the Discord invite. I believe it's only in the Tag Moderator welcome email copy now.
However, Trusted Members do have the option to join the Discord channel on a near-monthly basis. I send out a Mod Newsletter to all mods (Trusted Members & Tag Mods) each month (typically! 😅) and there's an invitation in that email to join Discord.
In any case, I'll shoot you a link via email shortly so you can join on in now.
Oh, I wasn't even aware about that.😔 Is there someway I could receive the Newsletter too? and if there's a workaround for this issue? ( I don't really know where the issue is, but the emails from DEV Team, don't come in my mailbox. Not even in the spam folder, they just don't arrive. )
Yes! Please do so. Thanks a lot!!
Awesome! I just emailed you.
As for the DEV emails not working, would you please report a bug on this? I can't actually manipulate your email as an admin and we should be picking up whatever email you've set in your settings here. Also, be sure to check that your notifications are set up properly.
Yes sure! Thanks a lot
Hello @michaeltharrington!
I received the Tag Moderator welcome email a few days ago, unfortunately there was no Discord invite link in it, so how may I join the discord?
I want to be a tag moderator 🥹
This sounds great! I just signed up! :D
