Today, I'm excited to share that the Forem app for Android is now available for download and immediate use. 🎉
This fantastic news comes after months of beta testing and collecting valuable feedback from Forem Creators, DEV moderators & Trusted Users on DEV. We're so proud of this mobile app built for the many Android users that are part of DEV, CodeNewbie Community, and the entire Forem ecosystem.
Much like the Forem iOS app, our Android app is meant to help you move through your day without sacrificing smooth access to new articles, podcasts, and discussions across any Forem community you're a member of. With a more seamless experience and a wider world of Forem access at your fingertips, we see our Android app as a huge improvement from the now discontinued DEV app.

Installed and uninstalled already - not really sure I see the point of it. It's more cumbersome than just using the PWA (which doesn't require installing anything)
Your comment reminded me of a funny xkcd:
I can agree on this. I'm a dev.to user and I'm not registered to other Forems. So, basically:
Thanks for your feedback @jonrandy - I can see where you're coming from if you're only using the Forem app for DEV.
Personally, I benefit from being able to use the app to manage the multiple Forems I belong to and receive push notifications from all of them, but I can see how that wouldn't be a concern for you if you're only using one community.
What's PWA?

Great work team!
Wow thanks for this good news, Jennie
Cool! Already reading this from the app :)
Amazing! I used the Forem app on Iphone and found it to be really good!
Is the Forem App Open Source?
If yes, lets start Open Source Contribution to Forem Android App 🎉
Thanks for the enthusiasm. Currently the app is not open-source and we are working on that only by making sure we have correct onboarding guides/documentation and other developer friendly tools setup.
Nice!! Will try for sure.
Downloaded it without even knowing it was a new thing. Wow!
Great App
